How Trade Advertising Can Be An Effective Strategy

When you dont have enough budget to run an advertising campaign, what can a business man do? Well, trade of course.

Since the beginning of time, man has learned to survive and get what he needs by trading. Its always been the way to acquire what you need without having to spend your money. With advertising, you can always trade in lieu of cash and funds.

Trading your products and services is nothing new in the marketing industry. Many business owners and media people have been doing it for so many years now. In fact, it is one of the most popular topics in marketing and business discussions.

For small business owners who usually have very limited budget, trading and bartering can be an excellent means to get even the most expensive advertising vehicle. We know for a fact that advertising, especially in mediums like tv and radio can be very costly that a small business may not be able to afford one.

Then comes trade advertising. Businesses involved in the trading process can gain so much from the opportunity. Thats why many business owners are always on the lookout for other firms who can trade and are willing to barter their products and services.

So how do you trade for advertising? For your advertising postcards for example, you can always have a printing house put their name and address in your cards in exchange for a discount or even a full price cut off. Or if you need a graphic designer for your custom postcards, you can trade a space in your card for your custom design and layout.

While you may not have a need for postcards or any other print ad, there are radio stations and tv channels that are open to trade advertising. Often, station managers trade commercial slots in exchange for other companys products and services. Still, a media manager even managed to get free coffee for his staff all day in exchange for a small slot in their daily soap.

There are also the newspapers where you can successfully trade your wares. Editors and publishers of newspapers often need items and merchandise to give away not only to their readers and sponsors, but to their delivery people as well. And they do give frequent prizes to employees too.

And there are also the trade shows and exhibits where you can trade your expertise on your field as a speaker in exchange for a booth.

Everything is possible when you do trade advertising. All you need is your creative mind to come up with an effective barter. Remember that you dont use cash to pay for your marketing campaign, so make sure that what you give in exchange is worth your partners time and effort.
