Tours To Take When Visiting Seattle

Sleepless in Seattle. Sure it was a title of a very popular movie but it’s also what can happen when visiting Seattle. There’s simply so much to see and do. By day there are plenty of attractions, and by night there’s a vibrant nightlife. Why not take some of the tours offered to see the most of Seattle during your stay?

The Boeing Plant is recognized around the world and it is infact the world’s largest building. The building itself covers just over 98 acres. That’s a lot! Here you can learn all about Boeing from one of the guides and you’ll also get to see a state of the art video presentation. The tour takes about 3 ½ hours and it is most certainly one of the highlights of the city. Don’t miss it!

One of the best ways to explore Seattle is taking the “Explore Seattle” tour. This is a 3 hour adventure that orientates anyone new to the city with its special attractions such how it earned the name Emerald City. It covers quite a lot of territory including Pike Place, Salmon Ladder, the Government locks, the Fisherman’s terminal, Queen Anne Hill, the shopping area, the waterfront, the financial district, Old Seattle, Magnolia Bluff, the all important Space Needle, and Chinatown to name just a few. There’s a bus tour and a foot tour available. If you choose the foot tour be sure to wear shoes that are good for walking.

The Seattle Double Decker Tour is a great way to see many of Seattle’s major attractions. You can get off at any point to visit a landmark then catch the next bus going by or you can stay on for the entire ride. It takes about an hour and covers the downtown shopping area, Seattle Center, Bell Street Pier, Odyssey, the Space Needle, Pioneer Square, the Waterfront, and plenty of other areas.

Whale Watching in Friday Harbor is the ultimate experience for many and rightfully so. Spring through fall the magnificent Orca whales make the waters around the San Juan Island home. During the summer you’ll also find Gray Whales, Blue Heron, Porpoises, Seals, Sea Lions, Bald Eagles and so much more. Every day is a new adventure!

The cruise has its very own naturalist on board to provide you with information on all the interesting sea life you’ll get to see. The cruise isn’t only a blast it’s very educational. This is a wonderful adventure that no one should miss when visiting the Seattle area. It’s a tour of a lifetime!

The Seattle Lake Cruise is a two hour cruise that has you explore Lake Union and Lake Washington. You’ll get a full narrative of the history of the area as well as interesting facts. You’ll even get a glimpse of the historic houseboat community including the houseboat from… you guessed it … Sleepless in Seattle. Enjoy the spectacular views of Mt Rainer and check out the homes of the rich and famous, from a distance of course.

The Snoqualmie Falls and Winery Tour takes you exploring outside Seattle. It’s a sightseeing trip you’ll not soon forget. It takes you through the Cascade foothills, farm land, forest, and charming towns, then finally you reach the magnificent 270 foot Snoqualmie Falls. But wait you’re not done yet. Next you get to do some wine sampling at the Columbia Wineries and Chateau Ste Michele. It’s a great way to end a day. Then it’s back to Seattle.
