When You Don't Know If You Should Add a Sunroom

The sunroom, called by other names, has been an architectural feature of homes for centuries. It has been referred to as the conservatory; the solarium; and even the greenhouse, although the greenhouse of today is a far cry from the sunroom of today. The sunroom of today is not only a place to relax in the warm sunshine among fragrant and colorful blooming plants; it can also serve as a dining area, kitchen, bedroom, or private bar and spa. Should you add a sunroom to your home? The answer to that question depends on a variety of other factors. First, can you afford to pay or finance the $10,000 to $70,000 which you can reasonably expect to pay for a sunroom? Will having a sunroom add to your home's curb appeal and market value? And how will you be using your sunroom? Will you use it enough to justify its cost, or would you be better off with some other kind of home improvement?
