One of the most important characteristics of photography is the lighting, hence if there is too much lighting then definitely your shot gets overexposed or worse, you don't get a shot at all. If there is little or no lighting then your photo also suffers because you either lose your photo all together or it comes out underexposed. Most of the time when it comes to photography lighting, natural light is all one needs.
