Filled with action, adventure, thrills and spills, �Book of Secrets� follows Ben Gates on this treasure hunt. The movie is especially entertaining because it is a unique blend of mystery, myth and real history. It delivers on all three levels and even features some cute comedy. After more twists and turns than the most thrilling roller-coaster, Ben finds the final clue which will lead him to the Lost City. There�s only one hitch; he must kidnap a prominent U.S. government official in order for the clue to be revealed. Will he do it? You�ll have to watch to find out. The film is rated PG due to some violence; but is suitable for most family viewing. Nicholas Cage is not the only Best Actor Oscar-winner in the film; he is joined by the equally talented Jon Voight, who plays his Dad, Patrick. Patrick is an intellectual and a bit whimsical. He enjoys treasure-hunting and is delighted to join his son on this romp. Ben�s mom is played by Oscar-winning Best Actress, Helen Mirren. As always, Mirren is superb as Dr. Emily Appleton. The third Oscar-winner is Dame Helen Mirren, who portrays Dr. Emily Appleton. Emily is Ben�s mother and Patrick�s ex-wife. A quirky professor, Dr. Appleton is pulled in to helping her family search for the truth. As always Helen Mirren delivers a charming and noteworthy performance. The film has a rating of �PG� for some scenes which feature minor violence scattered throughout it. All in all, the film is suitable for and provides entertainment to family members of all ages. Kids are captivated by the fast-paces, humorous treasure hunt and are intrigued by following along to discover the clues.
