We're hearing it more and more: 50 is the new 30. 60 is the new 40. It's a double-edged sword that rubs this writer a little raw. Why do we need to set the "new" at some younger "age"? Why aren't we celebrating whatever decade we happen to be living? What's so bad about being 50 or 60 or 90 for that matter? Isn't it time we ditch the numbers and dive into the gifts?
